The OEB released its decision in the first phase of its review of the natural gas distributors' quarterly rate adjustment mechanism. The regulator has set out additional steps if an increase or decrease of 25% or more on the commodity portion of a typical residential sales customer's bill is anticipated by the distributor.

The OEB has issued its decision on Enbridge Gas Distribution's rate application covering the years 2014 to 2018. The regulator approved Enbridge's proposed approach for a "Custom Incentive Rate-setting" plan, but with a number of modifications intended to enhance customer benefits and reduce the risk to customers.
